Privacy policy.
Last updated: October 2026
This is a small personal website. It has no ads and no tracking cookies. Here is exactly what happens with your data when you visit it or write to me.
Who is responsible
Vinicius Faina, music producer and audio engineer. Contact: mail@vinifaina.com.
Hosting
The site is hosted by Netlify, Inc. (USA). To deliver each page, Netlify’s servers process the technical data every website needs — such as your IP address, browser type and the time of the request — and may keep it in server logs for security and operation. I don’t use this data to identify you.
Contact form and email
If you use the form, your name, email, the link you send and your message are processed by Netlify Forms and forwarded to my email. If you write directly to mail@vinifaina.com, your message is stored in my mailbox. I use this only to answer you and to work on your project, and I delete it when it’s no longer needed. Legal basis: your request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR; Art. 7, V LGPD).
Music videos (YouTube)
Some pages show music videos from YouTube (Google Ireland Ltd.) in its privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). When a video comes into view it starts playing without sound, so it is loaded from YouTube’s servers: your browser connects to Google, which receives your IP address and technical data and processes them under Google’s privacy policy. I show these videos because they are part of my portfolio (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). If you block YouTube in your browser, the rest of the site works normally.
Spotify players
Album and playlist players from Spotify (Spotify AB, Sweden) only load after you click “Play here”. Before that, nothing is loaded from Spotify. After the click, Spotify processes your data under its privacy policy.
Visitor statistics (Umami)
To understand how the site is used, I use Umami, a privacy-friendly analytics service. It does not use cookies, stores nothing on your device and does not identify individual visitors: it records anonymous data such as the page visited, the site you came from, browser, device type and country, and a few actions on the page (for example, playing a preview, turning on the video sound or clicking my email). The data is stored on Umami’s servers in the European Union. Legal basis: legitimate interest in improving the site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). You can block it with any content blocker; the site works normally.
What the site keeps in your browser
Only your language choice (English or Portuguese), saved in your browser’s local storage when you use the EN/PT switch, so your next visit opens in the same language. To pick the language on your first visit, the site reads your device’s time zone — this happens only inside your browser and is never sent anywhere. Fonts are served by this site itself; nothing is loaded from Google Fonts or other font services.
Links to other sites
Links to SoundBetter, Instagram, Spotify, YouTube, Steam and other sites take you to services with their own privacy policies.
Your rights
You can ask me at any time what data I have about you, and ask me to correct or delete it, by writing to mail@vinifaina.com. You can also object to the processing and complain to a data protection authority — in the EU, the authority of your country; in Brazil, the ANPD.
